Community-Accountable Design

AI Blindspot uses lighthearted cartoons and popular education to illustrate how bias in AI works, and the harm it can create. It’s a tool to help non-tech folks and civil society organizations resist how AI is being deployed in our workplaces and communities.

AL imagines AI as a child that humanity has created — a child-like being with a human body and a gear for a head. Just as children are a reflection of the environment and people around them, AL is a reflection of the values, priorities, and biases of the people and systems that created him. And right now, AI is synonymous with tech oligarchy and its values.
